Remember how only a few months ago when we were super thrilled about seeing more of sizzling Uncle Mason (aka Taylor Kinney) as Shiri Appleby’s romantic lead in Alloy’s Dating Rules from My Future Self? Well, now we’ve got even more exciting news to share… Vampire Diaries beauty Candice Accola is set to star in the second season of the hit web series!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Candice will play a character named Chloe Cunningham who is described as “a 26-year-old who receives a visit from her older, wiser self via face time who texts her advice from 10 years in the future, thanks to an app provided by Appleby’s character.” Starring alongside her in the six-episode season is also Modern Family‘s Reid Ewing, and the premiere will air sometime in August 2012.

Congratulations to Candice on her stellar new role! We miss Caroline Forbes and waiting for the October premiere of Vampire Diaries Season 4 is going to be a feat itself — so we welcome any opportunity to get our fill of the cast before then.
