In The Vampire Diaries Season 3 finale, Rebekah Mikaelson received word that her older brother Klaus was killed by Alaric Saltzman, hunter supreme. As many viewers know far too well by now, poor Bex didn’t respond lightly to the grave news. Deciding once and for all that she was tired of struggling for survival and running from town to town in an attempt to avoid vicious Original hunters, Bex decided to back out of her agreement with Stefan and Damon and take down Ric via Elena.
So what did Bex do? She stood in the middle of Wickery Bridge and forced Matt Donovan to veer off the road and plummet into the dark waters beneath. The accident not only destroyed Bex’s blossoming friendship with Matt but it also killed Elena, who ended up drowning with Damon’s blood in her system. Luckily, viewers don’t have to wait until the Vampire Diaries Season 4 premiere to see what sorts of intense repercussions Bex will have to face because Claire Holt has spilled a few juicy details in a new interview! Watch the video below:
Just in case you are unable to view the video here’s what Claire revealed about working on the new TVD season:
“I’m very excited to get back into production. I think it’s going to be really interesting for Rebekah being that she killed Elena in the season finale.”
“After [she] lost her brother, I guess Rebekah didn’t really care anymore about consequences so that was why she did what she did.”
“What’s it like to kiss Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley is probably the most frequent question I get. And, you know there, are so many fans of the show and all the characters are so popular and I was so lucky to come on later in the piece. So everyone sort of wants to know what it feels like to be so lucky. I think that’s the question I’ve received from people. [Laughs]“
So tell us: Do you blame Rebekah Mikaelson for what happened to Elena? Or do you empathize with her considering she lost her brother and was tired of hiding from vicious hunters?
