Although the first episode of The Originals was actually a backdoor pilot on The Vampire Diaries (aka a test run), we knew it would go to series. Let’s face it, who could ever say no to more of Klaus’s fancy speeches about hummingbirds and culture, Rebekah’s angst about becoming a human and finding love, and Elijah saving the day in suits? The Mikaelsons, with all their longings and drama, have dug a place in our hearts, and they’re not going anywhere thanks to The CW!
The network has given a new-series order to the high anticipated spin-off, which has had fang fans buzzing for weeks now. Additionally, it has renewed Beauty and the Beast and Hart of Dixie. As for The Originals, CW president Mark Pedowitz
fangirled over the show issued the following statement:
“As soon as we saw last night’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, we knew we wanted more of The Originals — Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson have done a fantastic job with The Vampire Diaries, which is as fast-paced and well-written as ever, and Julie has created an equally compelling world for The Originals,” said Pedowitz. “We’re also very excited to bring back Beauty And The Beast and Hart Of Dixie for next season — both series continue to be creatively strong and compelling, and their fans are incredibly passionate.”
Congratulations to Julie Plec, Chris Grismer, Michael Narducci, Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Claire Holt, Daniella Pineda, Charles Michael Davis, Danielle Campbell, Leah Pipes, and the whole cast and crew for helping jumpstart all the New Orleans based drama!
This calls for a celebration: Pop the bubbly and put on some hot beats. Then, pack your bags because we’re heading to New Orleans, baby! Now tell us, loves, how do you plan on celebrating The Originals series pick up?
