On The Vampire Diaries TV series, Marguerite MacIntyre plays Mystic Falls’ go-getter sheriff and Caroline Forbes’ mom Liz. She’s also close pals with sassy Damon Salvatore, and the two often team up to solve a supernatural predicament or two — sort of like a more dramatic, better-looking pair-up of Starsky and Hutch. Well it just so happens that, in a fun twist of events, Candice Accola isn’t the only May baby on the cast — Marguerite also celebrates her birthday on May 11th, just two days before her on-screen daughter’s. Sheriff Forbes proved how awesome she actually was on episode 2.22, when she accepted Caroline for being a vampire.

When Matt needed to trust someone with a dark secret (that Caroline was a vampire), he went straight to Liz and she proved to be a great support system for him during this confusing time.

Plus, teaming up with a sizzling werewolf? Go, Liz!
Liz's love for Caroline shone through during the second season decade dance, where she set aside her hate of vamps to admire her daughter's style and grace.
