Ian Somerhalder Plans To Strut His Stuff & His Muff for An ISF Charity Event

Ian Somerhalder and a cute dogIs there seriously a bigger animal lover in Hollywood than Ian Somerhalder? We think not! The Vampire Diaries actor is a passionate advocate for suffering creatures everywhere, and his latest initiative to open an animal sanctuary proves just how much. This farm aims at providing a safe haven for animals that have been neglected and abused as well as fostering a community in which troubled teens help care for these mistreated pets. And in hopes of raising funds for this ambitious new project, Ian and his nonprofit organization  — the Ian Somerhalder Foundation — will be participating in the Best Friends Animal Society’s “Strut Your Mutt” event on September 22, 2012 at Park Sans Souci in Lafayette, Louisiana.

“I really believe in Best Friends Animal Society and their mission of “No More Homeless Pets™”, said Somerhalder, who serves as an acclaimed ambassador for Best Friends. “Their passion for helping pets really inspired me to work towards building an Animal Sanctuary through the ISF. Our sanctuary will be a safe place for all types of awesome creatures, including abused and abandoned pets.”

I think its Great what Ian is doing especialy if his foundation is also including pit bulls as well as any kind of animals in need of good homes.. i am probably as much if not more an animal lover as him and have a pitbull of my own named named Zodiak. Hes my best friend and proof that even with pits having a bad rep they dont deserve to be killed by shelters without the chance to prove their not all bad. But sadly shelters kill moms and pups and get away with it.In rhome tx they did to mine

And she was only half pit.. i tried getting a petition against the shelter but found out i couldnt do anything because its up to the shelter..it sucked she was a great dog an awesome pet and great with everyone including my kids..sad part is they left no note saying they took her and was dead before i found out from my neighbor where she was at. I know some are bad but if you can stop this stuff by what your doing and i had money to donate I would help anyway i could.i would help anyways
