Each year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art hosts a wondrous ball that is well-attended by Hollywood’s most glamorous leading ladies and debonair actors.The sophisticated event is a fine blend of culture and celebrity, and boasts some of the most lush fashion around. And at this year’s iconic fete (hosted by Carey Mulligan, Miuccia Prada, and US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour), Mystic Falls was well represented! Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev joined the ranks of the stylish elite by turning up for the ‘Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations’ 2012 Costume Institute Gala in New York City as Donna Karan’s personal guest.
As usual, the TVD beauty glowed on the red carpet! With her hair tucked up into a lovely chignon updo, Nina emerged in an elegant, off the shoulder, custom designed Donna Karan. The asymmetrical, back-baring chiffon gown — draped perfectly so as to accentuate Nina’s gorgeous curves — was decorated with black and antique gold sequins and featured a decadent train which the starlet excitedly described as “heavy” on twitter.
It appears as though fashion powerhouse Donna Karan has found a muse in the ever-so-captivating Nina. First, she provided her with the red, show-stopping number Nina wore to the 2011 Emmy’s and now she’s crafted this glorious metallic stunner just for her — and we can totally see why Donna’s smitten!
