Elena must either be getting in shape to defeat Klaus or finding ways to unleash her pent-up frustration because on Vampire Diaries episode 3.06, she’ll be doing a few laps around the school track. Unfortunately, that crazy fool Ripper aka Stefan (conveniently wearing a wife beater that accentuates his strong arms) will accompany his ex-girlfriend on this bloody awful pleasant little jog.

Here’s the official synopsis for “Smells like Teen Spirit”:

On the first day of their senior year, Elena (Nina Dobrev), Caroline (Candice Accola), Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Matt (Zach Roerig) are still reeling from recent events, while Tyler (Michael Trevino) seems to be enjoying everything a little too much. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is annoyed by a new houseguest, and everyone is surprised by the arrival of a new student in Alaric’s (Matt Davis) history class. Matt asks Bonnie for help when he realizes he made a serious mistake. Meanwhile, Stefan (Paul Wesley) continues to carry out his latest assignment from Klaus (Joseph Morgan, who does not appear in the episode). Steven R. McQueen also stars. Rob Hardy directed the episode written by Julie Plec & Caroline Dries (#306)

First of all, kudos for Nirvana reference — nothing gets us going more than a title celebrating one of the best grunge bands ever. Second, by the looks of these tense images, viewers are in store for some major clashing between Elena and Stefan. Ay caramba. Senior year is stressful enough without having your serial killer ex watching your every move!

  2. Stefan i s eveil. she alaways will be better off with Damon. besides i dont know what all this talk is about but Damons soul shines threw his eyes. he is in touch with his human side.

Well, from the pics, Elena seems more than annoyed at Stefan- she looks like she doesn’t want him anywhere near her. 0bviously, the images of Stefan killing and enjoying the kill are fresh in her mind. I also think that Klaus sent Stefan to “watch over” Elena because Klaus now wants her for himself. I honestly think Klaus is going to be obsessed with Elena- in his mind, she is his perfect mate/bride- because with her blood, he develops his hybrids. OH NO! DELENA AND STALE-ENA are in danger! Klaus might want it to be Klena! Or Eleus! I think Cyler/Forwood are going to be at odds- Caroline didn’t look to happy with Tyler becoming a hybrid. He seems too effusive all of a sudden. It doesn’t look good for them. I wonder what Matt did wrong that he needs Bonnie’s help- I bet Vicki has something to do with it. Damon is probably going to clash with Puppet-Stefan since he’s now Klaus’s BFF. I hope Meredith gets introduced as the new student. Lord knows, with Klaus, Michael, the original family, and werewolves, Damon and the gang are going to need all the help they can get! DELENA ALWAYS!!!!

  5. I think that Elena is going to get really annoyed with someone, as always and there is gonna be a fight and some poor, innocent bystander will get killed. They always do…

  6. I guess we all saw that coming lol It’s time to see Damon & Elena come together many will not like it but who know we’ll have to see what happens. Maybe Elena is still hoping that Stefan will see the light and find deep inside himself that his feeling’s for her are still there . All I want is , if they put Damon & Elena together won’t that ruin the show I mean come on don’t make it boring for us that’s all . That’s why I find it a bit hard to see them together Damon & Elena but who knows just make it good . :-)

I think that this episode will be the after effects of everything that happened in the last episode, i really want Elena to help Stefan even after everything, they are meant to be together…. i think there is something wrong with Tyler, because considering apart from Klaus, he’s like the first actual hybrid, these symptoms will shock people… i wonder who this new student is but can’t wait till Thursday

I think Stefan is going to be stuck in Elena’s tail so Elena will use that to reach to him by anyway possible,for Matt after he drowned himself so he can communicate with Vicki which is very stupid,but what i don’t understand if Vicki’s bad why she helped in the last episode and I guess the new houseguest is Kathrine beside Stefan who’s back now,Caroline’s face showed her disagreeing with Tyler when he told her this year will be good in the last episode so I think she will keep an eye on him and good thing Matt joined the action now.

  12. Delena is COMING !! . but i still think Elena still cares about Stephan , and both elena and damon will try to help stephan fight this deep compulsion of Klaus ..
    Can’t wait to see the flashbacks ..

Woww i dont know i think in the pic elena looks hurt from stefan and she doesnt want to be near him ….but in the end im teried of stefan being klause best friend stefan stop being stupid and figure a way out of the situaation and elena i hope things look good for her im teried of things looking down but she is becoming more like kathrine alot

Well I believe that Stefan & Elena will go through a hard time with each other as most couples do & including senior year that’s tough & somehow Damon will get his chance at dating Elena WOW!!!!! & I think Bonnie will be able to go through these changes with Jeremy by his way of communicating with the ghosts. And Alaric will have a new student on hand & I hope it’s the debut of Mededith Suarez. STEFAN & ELENA FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!! JEREMY & BONNIE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMON & BONNIE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    While Stefan is bad, if Elena hooks up with Damon, I hope Stefan gets to hook up with Rebekah (whom I throughly enjoy!!! Create cast addition in Claire Holt) or Katherine…

    Remember in the early parts of Season 2 when they’d do flashbacks of Katherine and Stefan, she really did seem to love him, even giving him a goodbye kiss after G. Salvatore shot him and Damon. I’d kind of like to see the writers explore that bit more at some point, even though I’m 150% Stelena :)

  19. Probably THE first thing that’s gonna happen in the new episode, is that mikael will feed on Jeremy till he dies but then he’ll come back becuz of his ring. The new student is going to be rebekkah, I’m like 99% positive on that one. Elena will team up with alaric and alaric will stab Stefan with some of his vervaindarts but eventually Stefan will get out of the basement and he’ll be threatening to kill alaric at school. Damon ‘s not gonna be happy that Stef is hanging around and having some girls over as his “meal” so Damon ‘s gonna get pissed off with him. And then I think there are two possibilities left for mikael: 1) he’ll escape from Katherine and Jeremy so he can track down klaus; or 2) he’s gonna team up with Katherine and jer and probably the rest of our beloved mystic falls residents who know klaus, so they can come up with a plan to kill klaus, but if that happens then stef Or rebekkah

  23. @ Gabriela… Your theories are pretty damn good! I agree with everything! Based from the short lil clips we got.. Have u guys seen the Canada promo one? Elena falling off those bleachers was a way for her to catch Stefan offguard so Alaric can vervain his ass and lock him up! I’m on my iPhone so I can’t scroll up to the girls up above but I do agree, it’s nice to see Stefan as an “ex” now haha. I do agree that it’s Rebekah.. But the siblings ran fast because of mikael so who knows .. Maybe it is Katherine.. But how? People would start questioning lol aghh is it Thursday yet???

  24. .. one thing I noticed from the pics too is that Elena looks ANNOYED as hell with Stefan hovering over her like an overprotective abusing BF. Lol geez he’s going to drive Elena away for sure lol I’m sure he’ll be back to his sweet boring self.. It was his curse remember? Well, not exactly but pretty much there.

  25. Hey TVD fans, off subject- but I have to share. The scoop on EONLINE.COM says Mason, Pearl, Bonnie’s Grams, and Lexi are coming back! It doesn’t say whether in flashbacks or as ghosts! I’m so excited!

  26. I love Ripper Stefan. And I’m going to love watching the tension between Stefan and Elena. I’m going to love seeing Stefan argue with Elena for a change. And I’m truly going to love him hanging out with other girls, hopefully Rebekah.

    Hope Kat gets a turn because I want Stefan to work out his issues with her.

    I think it will be good for Elena to see Stefan with other girls and not so true-blue-glued to her. Should make for some nice jealous scenes. We’ve already got Rebekah stating, “Consider me jealous.”

    For two seasons now it’s been the two Salvatores fighting over Elena when Kat and now Rebekah are so much more exciting.

    Eventually, we all know the writers will find a way to redeem Stefan, but I don’t expect him to ever again be the sweet, brooding Stefan Elena fell in love with. And that’s great cause I am so bored with S/E/D triangle and I love bad Stefan.

  27. Stefan and elena all the way …..<3 i belive that stefan is gonna be with elena agian but who knows till than but i have a feeling kathrine is gonna try to be with damon who knows it might happen cause kathrine liked the way damon turned her away hahaha that would be a whole lot cooler

  29. @Nian Fan Wow! We got to see this Canadian promo then! EW released an exclusive still where Stefan has clearly caught Elena and there’s lot of chemistry and tension between them.

  31. I’m in South Africa and have to wait for Seaon 3 to start airing. Thank God for the internet – have been albe to watch online! Big TVD fan! Love it, love it, love it!!!!! Smallville use to be my fav series, did not miss 1 episode of the entire 10 seasons, but TVD with only 2 and a bit seasons has def taken the fav spot in my opinion!!! Great show, great books, great actors, great producers, great directors etc. etc etc

    Looks like Elena is going to be quite annoyed with Stefan chasing her everywhere. Remember he’s got his emotions shut off, so he’s not the perfect Stefan anymore. I don’t doubt Elena will try to save him though. I guess this season is going to be about “saving Stefan” “getting Stefan back to normal” and “reunite Stefan and Elena”. I just hope writers can be a bit originals and make up not so previsible plots, but believable and interesting plots.

    I guess Katherine will try to made a deal with Michael to kill Klaus, keeping her and Salvatore brothers alive, of course, but as I have no clue what this Michael is like, I have no idea whether he’ll agree to make a deal… we’ll see.

    I’ll be sorry for Klaus, such a hot and strong character. Sorry, I know he’s evil, but I can’t resist him, although I didn’t like him promoting how Epic is Stefan’s love for Elena, for God’s sake, everyone in TVD is trying to shove the Epic love down our throats, even Klaus… Please writers, the more you try it, the less I buy it.

  36. @Keira, YES! I’ve had enough of “Stale-ena”! The only EPIC thing about it has been…THE BOREDOM!!! I agree the more the writers force it down our throats, the more nauseating it becomes! When Klaus, in his sadistical irony,makes light of it- boy, you know it baffles the mind. I too await my weekly dose of DELENA! THURSDAY CAN’T COME SOON ENOUGH FOR ME!!!

  40. Well since someone mentioned above that Lexi is coming back somehow. I think he will hopefully help Stefan out with his current situation and help him remember that he’s in love with Elena. Klaus compelled him so he doesnt remember. I will be so upset if Elen actually goes “all the way” with Damon! It’s just wrong! I really hope her and Stefan get back together. Everything that he has done to this point was to protect her and look where it got him! It’s just not fair for her to give up on him now! He did everything for her and it’s not his fault that Klaus compelled him to “turn it off”. I think once Klaus is eventually dead, Stefan’s compulsion will wear off and he will be in love with Elena again. I just hope it’s not too late!!!!! Stelena forever!!!!!!!!!
