Are you ready for tonight’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, “The Sun Also Rises”? Tonight we’ll find out more about the fate of some of our favorite characters and, hopefully, get some answers about last week’s outrageous cliffhangers!
Previously on The Vampire Diaries:
- Elijah offers Elena an elixir that might work – trust issues arise on Damon’s end.
- Damon force-feeds Elena his blood.
- Wolf Tyler nips Damon’s forearm.
- Klaus turns Aunt Jenna.
- Matt and Caroline are trying to keep wolf Tyler at bay and are at odds with each other.
- Elena is whisked away to the sacrificial ritual site by Klaus.
Our predictions for “The Sun Also Rises”:
- Aunt Jenna will take her own life/refuse to drink human blood in an effort to prevent the ritual and save Elena.
- Elijah seems to really want to help Elena and her friends but we don’t think he’s 100% trustworthy.
- Damon will not die in this episode but will show all the werewolf symptoms. (Perhaps he will meddle in Klaus’s ritual and Greta’s spell impacts him instead?)
- Matt and Caroline will have a great heart-to-heart conversation and he will accept her as a vampire.
- Elena will be used by Klaus during the ritual but won’t officially die. (Maybe the ritual gets interrupted before he can finish drinking her blood.)
- In the ep.221 extended preview, we witness a cemetery scene and spy a “Gilbert” headstone. Although it looks like a dream sequence, we can’t be too sure, so maybe Jeremy or Uncle John will say au revoir. It could be Elena, but the vampire blood in her system should save her from a full-on death.

WOW!!!! That’s going to be very, very Interesting!!! to see all of the events happening tonight & I’m confused by the storyline but it seems it will be a good one besides a sad one, So I will watch the episode tonight! STEFAN & ELENA FOREVER!!!! DAMON & BONNIE FOREVER!!! JEREMY & BONNIE FOREVER!!!
Every week i have some predictions, but every week I’m not even close! So I don’t really know what will happen. I know for sure that the writers will surprise us.
As for the Gilbert-stone. Maybe John, Jenna or Jeremy will die. But what I said, every week I’m not even close. So maybe it’s someone, who we don’t expect that is going to die. We will see!
I don’t think Damon will die either. Tyler will bust out and after nearly taking a bite out of Caroline, will run straight for the ritual site, where Stefan after learning the news from Damon takes time from the distraction to get Elena out. He also sets Jules free who nearly attacks Stefan before being subdued by Klaus’ witch and then when free runs with her tail between her legs.
Jenna who doesn’t like the whole vampire thing will stay and do her best against Klaus, but being new and weak, she’ll die.
Bonnie will have a stand off against Klaus’ witch and win, before channeling her powers to destroy Klaus, with Tyler, and Damon who in meantime arrived the scene volatile and hungry, the attack will weaken him, but not enough to kill him.
That’s where Elijah comes in, who now has the dagger and the ashes from the tree and uses it on Klaus. Alone it’s not sufficient to kill him, but with the vampire and werewolf bites, and the constant witch attacks, Klaus WILL die.
Anyway, that’s what I think will happen. I doubt it will actually happen that way though…TVD surprises me most of the time. Which is a good thing, of course.
I know that Damon doesn´t die. Come on, you can´t kill one of the main characters! But I don´t like that the rules is changing, beacuse when Rose got bitten it wasn´t a cure and no it is? Weird.
The sacrifice, very exciting! I love Klaus btw and Elijah. Like the bad guys I guess. Who is gonna die? I bet on John. I hope Jenna becomes a vampire, that would really be a twist!

I gues we all know that Damon is not going to die as he’s one of the main characters. So the important question is how will he cure the wolf infection?
I haven’t read through all the comments so sorry when I’m repeating.
I was wondering what would happen if Damon drinks some of Klaus’s blood? I mean, Klaus being a hybrid, his blood should countain some kind of antibodys right? So my guess is Damon drinks the blood and finally kills Klaus.
Let me know what you think about my theory

EVERYONE says that DAMON did not die in this episode,because it must die, who would follow the vampire diaries without DAMON (NONE)ITALY loves damon elena
I think Damon will cure himself by either biting a werewolf(the cure suggested by Jules earlier) or using the resurection potion(as my son predicts), But I also like the idea of Damon also biting Klaus. I hope Jenna doesn’t die – that would make John the guardian of Elena and Jeremy!
so, i think Jenna will turn to a vampire because Elena wouldn’t want her to die let her and Jeremy without tutor. Elija made a deal and even if Damon took the bussines in his own hands the deal was made with Elena, so i think Elija will help them.

as for Damon, he can have those simptoms but he can’t die. my theory is that the bite is not so dangrous as Tyler wasn’t fully transformed when he bite him. remember that Jules was a wolf when she gave that bite to Rose. maybe it counts for something.
of course Matt will accept Caroline as she is because he realised that she’s the same person. still, he has to do something bout Caroline’s mother.
I think the gilbert who’ll end dead is Jhon. they say it’s an unexpected heroic act and we know Jhon is kind of selfish but he would give his life to protect his daughter.
it’s hard to say what will happen with Elena, she won’t die that for sure and but i think Klaus will taste her, just sayin… and o think that Tyler will try to save Elena too but will end urting someone else

Maybe the grave is elena’s because they are going to fake her death because she is a vampire now!!! Wow that would be intense but more likely it’s Jenna s which is so sad so I really hope not!!! I cannot wait till tonight it is going to be amazing …. So much suspense!
That is such an interesting concept and a Damon/Klaus show-down would be pretty cool. Bonus points for incoporating bio knowledge with the antibodies!
I think elijah will kill klaus jenna will die stefan will heal damon even though hes still mad at him for making elena a vampire. bonnie and the other witch will fight against each other only to have bonnie come out on top john will witness the goings on and leave mystic falls but not without saying hell come back for his children. im sure im way off but i guessed thats all i can say i cant wait for tonights episode .
I think the grave is Jenna’s because if you look at pics for next weeks episode (as i lay dying” you can see Jeremy and Elena in the pictures so it’s not them who dies. and i’m pretty sure it’s not john’s because he’s wearing his magic ring that keeps him alive from supernatural things.
Of course Damon won’t die, like everybody says he is one of the main characters and it just won’t be fair to Delena fans to let him die. I am with the people who say that because Tyler wasn’t a full wolf, will play a part in Damon not dying for good.
i’m pretty sure but i think Elena might become a vampire, but i’m not completely 100% sure, i mean it happens in the books at one point, so why not in the show? lol
with Caroline and Matt, i think that they will secretly team up together and foil her mom’s plans (if any) so that in future episodes they can protect Caroline and the other good vamps in town that care for and protect Elena.
Aunt Jenna will die. Whether by not drinking human blood, or in the ritual, she’s probably going to die. So is Jules I think. The vampire and the werewolf come before Klaus drinks from Elena, so a vampire and a werewolf will die at some point, I think.
Matt and Caroline will be fine against wolf-Tyler. And I think they’ll reconcile afterwards.
I read a spoiler that makes me believe the Sherriff will die(Caroline’s mom).
And Damon is NOT going to die, that I know for sure. He’s been signed for next season lol. I think that since Tyler wasn’t fully turned into a wolf when he bit Damon, that it will not kill him. He may have some of the same side-effects as Rose, but he won’t die.
And those are my theories =) haha!
AND…Elijah and Klaus are not going to die anytime soon, just letting everyone know. All of next season is based on ALL of the originals coming back, and Klaus’s mixed-breed thingies.
Well, the suspense is killing me. There are so many good theories of what might/might not happen; the writers always seem to leave us gasping for more. I think that Damon and John team up to disrupt the sacrifice- John ends up dying. Jenna will turn into a vampire and Stefan can help her cope with her new life. Elijah cannot use the dagger to kill Klaus because no vampire can wield it without dying too. Elijah’s cool-I don’t want him to die. Caroline and Matt are in a bit of a jam-Tyler might breakdown that fence and kill either one.Sheriff Forbes might also try to kill Caroline and Matt could die trying to stop her. Maybe Tyler mauls her? I know gross but possible.@Fallen Angel, relax you’re not nuts. The idea of Damon drinking the blood of a Klaus the hybrid is GOOD and IT MIGHT JUST WORK! ANYTHING TO SAVE THE SEXIEST VAMPIRE ON TVD. PERSONALLY, I LIKE THE IDEA OF THE DOPPELGANGER’S BLOOD, ELENA’S BLOOD, BEING THE ANTIDOTE FOR THE WOLF’S BITE. i dont think damon will die, he cant or that would probably end the show, im hoping its john who dies and not jeremy or jenna but if jenna dies then alaric could become elena’s guardian seeing as he married her mum. Maybe as elena is a supernatural being (a doppleganger) her blood will cure damon? or he might bite a werewolf. I dont think klaus will die.. he’s too much of a story just to kill off.. and it wont be easy!! but thats just my ideas.. most of us will probably be wrong, thats what tvd does
I believe the curse will be broken and that it will cure but also curse Damon. Elena will come back after the sacrifice. Jenna and Tyler will die, so sad. Elijah will try to kill Klaus but I think he will get away and their will be a stand-off between Bonnie and Klaus’ witch.
I don’t think Damon will die, Julie said that Delena will be at one moment, and i don’t think it will be this season so maybe the 3rd, so he will leave.

Jules will die for sure, Bonnie or Jeremy also I think, and Jenna or John. Greta will probably die also, and possible the sheriff.
Why nobody thought about Stefan, maybe he will die too!!!
And I think that will be some big big surprises! Can’t wait to watch!
I really hope Jenna doesn’t die. Elena has spent the entire season 2 protecting those she loves, I just hope that her loved ones don’t die. She will feel guilty forever!
i think matt will die he probably gets in the way to protect caroline and he gets shot from her mom
Okay so I’m just going to go in order;
1. I personally don’t think that Jenna is going to take her own life. While I don’t think that she’d want to be a vampire I hightly doubt that with Elena being there she’d let that happen
2. Yeah, I don’t exactly trust Elijah either. I don’t know what he has up his sleeves but obviously either way he’s said that the the sacrafice will happen
3. Of course Damon can’t die! That’s a given, yeah, he’ll probably show the symptoms but thats about all. As far as why he won’t die I like the theories that have been thrown out there but I dont really know for myself.
4. Matt will accept Caroline; you can tell by the conversation that he had with her mom, right after he calls her and wants to talk…its because he wants to mend things with her. He loves her
5. The ritual won’t be completed that far. She not going to die at all or even become a vampire at this point. I see that happening eventually, but it’s not time for that yet…i don’t think
6. The whole headstone sequence could be a dream, but I dont think so. I feel like they’re going to let Jules and Jenna both die. I love Jenna and I dont want her to die but look at the history of the show.
Season 1 Vicki dies (even thought she was being a bit unruly) then they kill Anna which I was totally upset about! And so far this season they’ve only killed Rose (which sucked for Damon) meaning that theyve got to end this season with a huge bang. I mean come on there’s only two more episodes before this season ends…just saying

All i hope is that Damon won’t die, because he is very important. I think Elena will be fine because Damon and Stefan will meddle in the ritual, also i think Jenna will accept she is a vampire and help Elena, but won’t drink her blood. I know someone will die and i think it is John or maybe Jenna.. i don’t know what will happen between Matt and Caroline, but i really want Caroline to be with Tyler!!!!!!!!!!!!! can’t wait!!!!!!!!!!
I know for a fact that Damon won’t die it’s just obvious. But I think its because Tyler wasn’t in full wolf form when he bit Damon. I think Jenna may not drink any blood to ruin the ritual.
Damon can’t die, not in this episode and in any other. Elena can’t be a vampire. I think the ritual will be interrumped.
I can tell you 2 things:

1. Damon wont die, i mean COME ON hes one of the main characters, and we all know that they dont die, but if they do.. (but Damon cant
2. You cant really predict what Julie & Kevin came up with, they have so many great ideas that actually shock us >usually in a very emotional way< so we have to wait and see for ourselves

I thought Elena won’t be a vampire for now and exactly she has a plan with Stefan. Because Stefan isn’t become easy to let Elena being a sacrifice! He love her very much. And Damon will never die, because I thought the werewolf bite will be cured! And Klaus will be so mad with Elijah! Matt will be dying and Caroline will be mad with tyler because he bit Matt in the Lockwood cellar!
I agree that Damon will not die, I think someone (whether it be him or Stefan or something) will find a cure. I have an idea that maybe he would have to drink the blood of a doppleganger to cure him….so Elena would have to make the choice of letting him be cured or letting him die. (But I think that Damon wouldn’t have to drink too much to heal himself, and I don’t think it would be enough for Elena to die, especially since it was a relatively small bite from Tyler).
I honestly really DON’T want Jenna to become a vampire. She’s just like….I don’t know, she’s just an awesome character the way she is (at least that’s my view) and I don’t want her to go through with the transition, but I also don’t want her to die, so I’m quite torn.
I predict that IF the ritual isn’t stopped in time (by one thing or another, I’m not entirely going to predict that…because I’m not entirely sure what I think myself), that the elixir will work and that it will cancel out the vampire blood that is in Elena’s system–since the elixir stops her from dying, and technically when you become a vampire you die, I would say that it would render the vampire blood ineffective.
I also think that Caroline and Matt will be able to hold Tyler off–they’d shoot him or something until he slowed down enough for them to be able to get out of the cell (Caroline could just haul Matt along with her as she ran with her vamp speed) and they’d be able to escape. Something roughly along those lines, I’m not entirely sure.
—Last note: I doubt these are anywhere near correct because, for one thing, I get a feeling that there will be at least one death in this episode. I just hope I’m wrong.
There is no way they’re going to kill off Damon. I think he’s going to save Jules, and in return, she’ll tell them the cure for a vampire bite.
Killing off Uncle John would be fabulous…I don’t care if he’s trying to be nice, I can’t stand the guy.
We all know Bonnie is going to kill Klaus, or at least run him off. It’s been kind of exciting knowing he’s waiting in the wings, it would be nice if he was still out there somewhere and they could bring him back from time to time.
