Not only did Alaric try to stab Dr. Meredith Fell to death and not only did Damon hook up with both Rebekah and Sage in one night (don’t hate the player, hate the game)…but viewers were treated to a few poignant scenes showing Caroline trying to help out Bonnie and her transitioning mom as well! Moreover, Stefan and Elena teaming up after such an intense, heartbreaking season was a pretty noteworthy event too! So what exactly was it about episode 3.17, “Break On Through″ that left viewers gripping the edge of their seats for dear life?     “Can’t go back” by Rosi Golan. It was heart-breaking and so poignant; both scenes were about loneliness and abandonment- perfect musical choice!
