The Top Ten Fashion Moments from The Vampire Diaries Season 3

From a Roaring Twenties decade dance to a homecoming extravaganza to an Original family ball, the third season of The Vampire Diaries was full of jaw-dropping fashion moments. Whether it was Bonnie’s flapper dress or Elena’s ball gown, our favorite Mystic Falls residents proved yet again that, when the occasion called for it, they were more than capable of slipping out of their jeans and into gorgeous couture. So whose impeccable style left us breathless and inspired? Check out our top ten favorite selections from TVD Season 3 in the gallery below!

Elena's Ball Gown

Despite a night full of Original family drama, Elena's dress didn't lose its sparkle. With its beautiful sweetheart bodice and poufy splendor, Elena's dress from "Dangerous Liaisons" danced its way right into our hearts.

Rebekah's Homecoming Dress

Shoutout for the one and only Bex! Poor Barbie Klaus may not have been able to attend her very first homecoming event on account of Elena literally stabbing her in the back...but that doesn't mean that she wasn't dressed to impress. Her red strapless minidress spoke volumes!

Klaus' Roaring Twenties Suit

It's not easy to rock a white suit but Klaus pulls it off with such keen perfection. Is it his big, bad hybrid swagger? Perhaps. However, we'd like to believe it's the neatly pressed hanky peeking from inside his blazer pocket.

Damon's Bowler Hat

We don't see too much head gear on TVD so when we spot one, you better believe we're quick to make a note of it. And who better to model old-fashion bowler hats than Mister Mesmerizing Blue Eyes himself...Damon Salvatore! Check him out how super fly he looks.

The Vikings' Daily Wear

Costume departments have it hard -- especially when they have to realistically re-imagine what life in the 1100s was like. So whoever put together the Viking costumes for the Original family flashback episode that featured Rebekah, Elijah, and Klaus in old-fashioned clothing deserves a big round of applause!

Caroline's Princess Gown

Caroline. Sweet Caroline. She's always a stylish gal but she particularly took our breaths away during the Original family ball when she donned a gorgeous blue dress flounced with tulle. She looked positively classic and regal. Best of all? Klaus was actually her stylist for the evening. Apparently, Mister Hybrid has topnotch taste!

Elena and Bonnie's Cheerleading Uniforms

Between the two of them, Elena and Bonnie have so much supernatural drama going on in their lives that sometimes we forget that they're still in high school. So it's refreshing to see them behaving like normal, peppy teen girls and there's nothing to better convey that than skimpy cheerleading uniforms.

Sage's Boxing Outfit

It takes a lot of bravery and confidence to enter the boxing ring, especially if you're a woman living during a time when showing even a glimpse of your ankles was considered tasteless and scandalous. However, Miss Sage didn't give a hoot and even took to flaunting her toned and powerful physique in booty shorts and a bustier. All we can say it, "Get it, girl!"

Stefan's Fancy Tux

We got a full load of the Ripper in "The End of The Affair." and found out that Stefan and Klaus used to be BFFs not too long ago (in vampire years that is). Nevertheless, despite Stef's monstrous and cruel ways, we fell more in lust with him than ever -- partly due to his passion, partly due to his mission of protecting Elena, and mostly due to his ever-so-dapper tuxedo!
