Elena Gilbert might not be the luckiest girl in the world especially considering all the heartache and hardships she’s been forced to endure at such a young age. Nevertheless, despite her bad bout of luck in general she doesn’t have a tough time when it comes to love. Sure, she has a huge decision to make but she’s the kind of beautiful girl who attracts the most dashing of men…the kind who jump-starts the still-beating hearts of vampires, turns beasts into moral princes, and comforts old friends during periods of grief and turmoil. (Nope. We’re not jealous of her at all…)

Elena (played by the remarkable Nina Dobrev) has plenty of fellas to choose from but, sadly, she can only choose one strapping, fine gentleman to spend her days with. (Don’t blame us — she’s just a monogamist dater like that!) And that’s one hell of a hard decision to make on her own.
