*Spoiler Alert: Please do not read any further if you wish to remain 100% surprised for the fourth season of The Vampire Diaries TV series.
The Vampire Diaries Season 4 is going to be a whirlwind of crazy twists and suspense! Not only is Elena Gilbert going to transition into a bloodthirsty creature of the night, but also a vicious slayer is coming to Mystic Falls and Bonnie Bennett might actually embrace her black magic wiles. Well, now TVD fans have another reason to be excited about the upcoming season — Daniel Gillies may be returning to resume his role as dashing, heart-ripping Original brother, Elijah Mikaelsen!
Although he’s currently starring in Saving Hope as heroic physician Dr. Joel Goren, Daniel will be making room in his busy schedule for some supernatural action. Steven R. McQueen tweeted that Daniel partook in the cast promos a few weeks ago, and in a recent interview with About.com, Daniel teased the possibility: “I’d like to and I’d say there is a strong likelihood that I’m returning.”
As for Daniel’s favorite episode from previous seasons? Here’s what he revealed:
I liked the beginning, where there was more mystery to my character. He was more humorous and ruthless all at once and I feel like the show desperately needed that when I came in. He was an antagonist that was a deep threat to them and I feel like I filled that role and responsibility.
