Yep, that’s right — there are new flashback scenes to look forward to come December 6th in the Vampire Diaries episode titled “We’ll Always Have Bourbon Street.”

Our beloved show has taken us on many journeys throughout time, including a trip to the Roaring Twenties and to Italy in the 1100s. This time around though, we will be joining Damon and Stefan Salvatore in the 1940s. World War II GI uniforms? Dapper suits and ties? Jukebox tunes? Yes please!

Best of all — you may want to sit down for this news — Lexi (Arielle Kebbel) is set to make an appearance! (Hooray! Wishes DO come true.) Not only will get to witness some heartfelt scenes between her and Stefan, but she will also be a sight for sore eyes in a glamorous ’40s dress. Get it, girl!

Craving more details? Head over to Entertainment Weekly’s site and watch as TVD costume designer, Leigh Leverett, describes the WWII-era wardrobe.  And don’t forget to mark your calendars, because the eighth episode of The Vampire Diaries Season 4 will air on December 6, 2012 at 8/7c on The CW.

So, on a scale of 1 to 10 fangs, how excited are you to take a big bite out of the 1940s?
