In the Season 1 episode entitled “Friday Night Bites,” Stefan treated Elena to a vintage necklace right before a dramatic evening of Mystic Falls football. It was not only beautiful but it was full of vervain to defend her against vamp compulsion. Fortunately, it’s not an engagement ring (that would be a little too close to Edward and Bella territory), but it’s good to hear that Stefan and Bonnie will be looking out for their best gal’s interests in the new season. I think she’ll be disgusted at first, overwhelmed for sure, but she will adapt easily. Besides, she has a bevy of vamps who are more than willing to help her.
