The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Finale: Watch the Promo for “Home” (VIDEO)

Mystic Falls goes boom in "Home" - The Vampire Diaries Season 5 finale promoGather round, brave fang fans, for when tragedy strikes our beloved TVD family, we need to band together and hope for the best. There’s no way to put this gently: Stefan is dead — murdered at the hands of the lunatic passenger permanently inhabiting Tyler Lockwood’s body. We’re sobbing. We’re screaming. We’re having difficulty breathing. However, there’s one lone thought consoling our shattered hearts: this is not the end…yet. Can Stefan be saved before the Other Side is gone for good? Will Bonnie, Caroline, and the gang be able to find a way to bring him back to the land of the living?

Well, according to the official promo for The Vampire Diaries Season 5 finale, they’re going to give it a shot. Damon, especially, lays aside his obvious devastation to brainstorm the craziest plan ever: blowing up the Mystic Grill. We’re not sure why — or even how he’ll achieve this — but he’s definitely targeting the crueler-than-Cruela Travelers, who have managed to oust the town’s supernatural creatures from their homes. He even enlists Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum (aka Matt and Jeremy) in his drastic scheme, which emphasizes just how desperate he is to rescue his baby bro before he’s sucked into eternal purgatory. “Next order of business? Mass murder,” Damon says, as he rubs his hands together with maniacal glee. (Get your blast on, homie!)

Elena, however, is not on board with this course of action. “We’re not blowing up our town!” she firmly tells her boyfriend over the phone. While we understand her reluctance to destroy the one burger joint in all of Mystic Falls, time is a-ticking, and they have to resort to dangerous means to resurrect Stefan. And, judging by the fiery explosion we spy at the end of the preview trailer — along with Sheriff Forbes asking Markos if he smells gas — it seems as though Damon sees his plan through. The question that remains now though is: Will it work? More importantly, will any more precious residents die in the crossfire?

Let’s form a prayer circle while we still can, everyone, because this finale is going to be a super intense shockfest, that’s for damn sure!

  5. Leslie Said:

It’s important to reunite them & have them be together in this world. It won’t destroy the impact of “Home” b/c it’s going to be a long road ahead. It should be about them finding each other and discovering themselves along the way. Maybe Damon and Bonnie find themselves in a diff world since the Other Side is gone and ultimately find a way for our 2 worlds to collide. This in itself could have huge potential and unlimited consequences. But they do it anyway and suffer consequences together.
