Just when you thought The Vampire Diaries TV series couldn’t get any more enticing, it ups its game by casting amazing actors and actresses! So far, the following stellar shows have had adequate representation on TVD: Lost, Pretty Little Liars, Supernatural, Degrassi the Next Generation, One Tree Hill, Smallville, and more! Well, prepare to add another check mark in the Smallville column because guess who’s moseying on over to Mystic Falls? Cassidy Freeman!

Look familiar? Well, Cassidy played Tess Mercer on Smallville! She’s also guest starred on CSI: NY and The Playboy Club. And, according to TV Line (who exclusively provided this dishy scoop), Cassidy will first appear on Vampire Diaries episode 2.16, which will feature 1912 flashbacks (coincidentally the same year the Titanic set sail on its fated voyage). To add to the mystique, she’ll be playing a character named Sage who is described as “sexy and fearless, with a devilish smile.”

Ok, Now I don’t think I will watch Vampire Diaries anymore. Sage is a MALE. I realize things can’t be exactly has they are in the books but this is just to far. Sage was an amazing character. He deserves to be the same character on the show as he was in the books. I repeat he is a MALE not a FEMALE.

I agree with Buffyfangirl on this one, Sage should have still been a man, the way they write his french attitude in the book is so good. But then again the way LJ Smith wrote is different then the newest book “hunters” was written and Sage’s character got altered. I think it will be interesting to see Sage as a women, just as long as they keep the friendship and I MEAN ONLY FRIENDSHIP between Sage and Damon, dont want her coming in and destroying the blooming Delena relationship ( only Stefan should have that power.) and well they brought in a Merideth Fell now so she might be our lady vampire killer, hoping they keep her simular to the book even though she is already a Fell for some reason but whatever, and Cassidy is an okay actress, at least she was on Smallville.
