The last interaction we witnessed between Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) was of a bitter and (temporarily) defeated Marcel handing over the keys to his kingdom to his power-hungry sire. So what happens next, now that the big, bad hybrid is overseeing the supernatural scene? Well The Originals episode 1×09 (titled “Reigning Pain in New Orleans”) will give viewers plenty of insight into Klaus’ incipient rule as king.
Quite shockingly though, Klaus has decided to spend less time issuing decrees and initiating war and avert his attention elsewhere: his memoir. Yep. Poor Cami (Leah Pipes) has resumed her role as Klaus’ disgruntled transcriber, and a new clip from The Originals Season 1 Episode 9 shows the poor lass pounding away at the antiquated keys of a Remington typewriter.
“To be clear, if the Quarter is yours now, you still need me…why?” she asks with a sigh. Her fingers are cramped and she’s so over listening to all the Mikaelson family drama.
Klaus, however, sees things a bit differently than Cami does. “A thousand years of history won’t write itself, love,” he points out. Before she can respond, in saunters Marcel and halts at the sight of his sire hanging out with his crush. Klaus notices the tension, and with an cheeky smirk, informs Marcel that Cami knows they’re both vampires and he’s been compelling her to do his bidding.
And what happens next is oh-so-very awkward. Take note of Klaus’ cringe-worthy matchmaker skills in The Originals episode 1×09 clip below. Then, drop us a comment telling us if you felt just as uncomfortable as Cami and Marcel probably did!
