- “Help I’m Alive” by Metric: Plays while a couple is viciously attacked in the woods. (aka, the perfect song for Damon’s midnight snack.)
- “Conductor” by We Were Promised Jetpacks: Plays when Matt lights Elena’s candle (who then, in turn, lights Stefan’s) during the comet gathering in the town square.
- “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles: Plays during Stelena’s swoon-worthy first kiss.

The promos for the first season of TVD also played “Help Im Alive” by Metric. That song hooked me and after downloading it and loving it, I decided to check out the show after missing a few of the first episodes.
Two years later I own both seasons and am a die-hard Stefan lover!!
