Ever since Catching Fire (the sequel to The Hunger Games) by Suzanne Collins came out, fans of the dystopian book series have been dream casting the role of Finnick Odair. Lots of names have been tossed around (including Garrett Hedlund and Armie Hammer) but with his swoonworthy looks — including sea green eyes and sandy hair — prowess with a trident, and saucy yet brave attitude, Finnick’s shoes are tough ones to fill. However, it has been announced that an up-and-coming British actor has reportedly landed the coveted role. And since we’re so blown away by his latest achievement, our Vampire Bait honor goes to none other than Sam Claflin!

If Sam looks familiar, that’s because this handsome fella has already starred in several big budget films including Snow White and The Huntsman (alongside Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, and Kristen Stewart) and Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (alongside Johnny Depp). We don’t know about you but we’ve seen him in action in both films and, from smooching mermaids to wielding heavy weaponry, this guy has impressed us beyond words! Although nothing is 100% official yet, we can definitely see him protecting Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in the Third Quarter Quell arena (and rocking a loincloth).
