When asked which Vampire Diaries Season 3 episode is his favorite so far, Paul Wesley immediately responded that the 1920s flashback one was the bee’s knees. And now, after having watched episode 3.03, we understand why. Every. Single. Moment. Was…RIVETING!
The 1920s was a decade filled with ritz, glitz, jazz and speak-easies. However, despite the bright flapper dresses and buoyant Charleston steps, the Roaring Twenties was a dark period for Stefan Salvatore. He was pretty much blacked out for the duration of it. He doesn’t remember a single detail from his psycho ripper phase at all.
He blamed his lack of ’20s memories on all the partying, booze and blood-filled fests. Klaus had a different spin on the “I don’t remember anything” tale though—and Stefan realized this upon discovering a photo of him and Klaus cheesing for the camera. (Ya know, just a couple of blokes in fine tuxes out on the town…)
Apparently, Klaus had compelled Stefan long ago to forget all about the twenties and having met him. Why? Because he and Klaus were once so close that Klaus practically considered him a brother! (Stefan even served as Klaus’ wingman on several occasions by gathering victims for him at bars.)
The real topper though? Meeting Rebekah. Stefan’s beautiful former flame is–wait for it—Klaus’s sister and one of the Originals! And now, due to Klaus removing the fatal stake from her heart, Rebecca is back and ready to rumble. Unfortunately though, Klaus also gave Stefan back his memories—which is good news for Rebekah but heartbreaking news for Elena!
The CW wasn’t kidding when they dubbed Season 3 the “Season of the Originals.” We have a feeling that, despite Klaus’ and Stefan’s serial killer road trip this summer, the fun and terror is only just beginning on TVD…

Omgosh that epidsode was awsome stefan looked hotter in a tux and also i felt sad for elena i love stefan and elena together ….and i was surpised to see kluse and stefan best friends wow and damm i hope elena and stefan still have a shot together because if not im gonna cry lol and rebecca being a onriginal wow that was a shocker cant wait for next epidsode
OMG GREAT EPISODE i reallly felt bad for Elena i mean stefan totally just broke her heart !!! i really want them to get back together STELENA FOREVER but someone get that bitch Rebecca out of the show!!!
this has to be the most potentially gripping episode already with all these new twists and turns,my mouth is still wide open from amusement and now that Rebecca is back inthe picture i would not try any foul chinanicans if i were Catherine lawl.but i do feel pretty bad for Elena,because if she had that much trouble with Catherine whose just over 500 years,what kind of havoc will a 1000 year old original bring if things get complicated as before??
OMVD!! Loved this episode! Feel so bad for Elena but she has been a tiny bit annoying with her determination..but still…i want her & stefan together. OmG…so, in the birthday ep., damon gives Elena her necklace she says its frm her grandma…now we know where it originated frm…Rebecca! Thank goodness i got my dvr…ima watch it again…and again…and again until nxt Ep.! Yeeeah Baby!
Not to sure on the STELENA front. Kinda think She should cut her losses and RUN. When Klaus figures out she is alive, it will be ugly!
I loved the flashbacks to the 1920s, and LOVE, LOVE LOVE, Tyler rescuing Vampire Barbie. What an ASS her dad is. Glad Caroline’s mom got a backbone finally!
Pretty glad I buy the episodes from Amazon, so I can watch them over and over!!!
Oh wow!!! Stefan looks great in a 1920′s tux & since he & Klaus caused mayhem @ Gloria’s bar it would be interesting to see how the story played out & how Stefan’s flame Rebecca would still love him, poor Elena & I would be upset how Stefan breaks up with Elena & she would run to Damon. & lets see how Gloria would work her magic & maybe Bonnie has a connection to Gloria. Crazy episode It’s going to be fun tonight. STEFAN & ELENA FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!

awesome indeed!! I think Stefan is about to reconnecting with Rebbeca…and are these feelings for her stronger than he has for Elena??? Will Elena find out about his new-past relation??? and if she finds out what will she do? will she consoled with Damon??? Poor poor Caroline…always in trouble and suffer but last minute saved ….cant wait to see what next…!!
I cannot believe that rebecca is Klaus sister, another thing that shocked me was that Klaus and Stefan knew each other and were best friends!!!
That Rebecca is an Original was no surprise to me. I have been waiting to meet the rest of them this season. But, the revelation that Stefan knew them before and was compelled to forget was a shocker.
I cling to the belief that he truely loves Elana, even more than his old GF. He may try to use this turn of events to finally get Klaus–or is his name Nick? Im sure Rebecca would love to kill him as well if she could.
Maybe, Stefan will use this new “brother situation” to get Klaus to trust him more. Then he may have access to revive the rest of the Originals–including Elijah– who all may gang up on Klaus.
Perhaps they will be able to kill him, or it will be a good enough distraction that he may be able to go back to Elana,
I hope Elana can keep the faith–I felt so bad for her– so when he does return, she won’t be with Damon.
Oh. And like I asked in an earlier post. This is the question of all questions.

Omg, this episode was shocking… i coudn;t even tell wich moment was the most shocking… although i can tell i almoust didn’t cry when stefan told elena he doesn’t want to see her ( come on he was totaly a douche , besides elena is way better that rebecka ) … and wahen caroline told tyler that her dad hates her… I ‘m still shaking, oh, i can’t wait for another episode…
Klaus sister , stefan and kalus budies, elena in the closet… damon almoust didn’t got killed by klaus… stefan’s and elena’s breakup,( she looked devastated )

I think the most shocking thing is that they need Rebecca’s necklace to contact the original witch. This is AWESOME!!! Did you see Stephan’s face when they said that!? Classic. Stephan knowing before is a huge shock!! When they said he would be reunited with an old flame I never imagined it would be Klaus’ sister! WTH?
@ Annie I’m totally with you WHO ARE THE ORIGINALS RUNNING FROM!? I would’ve never imagined that anyone could overpower them and now with Klaus being pretty much invincible they should have no worries. It just sucks that he’s such an ass that he would kill off his entire family…
I think Elena needs to calm down…it sucks that she just got her heart broken but Stephan really is just looking out for her. When he said those things I don’t think that he exactly meant them like that…he’s protecting her. And poor Damon who is also trying to protect her…I know he loves her too but she’s so not worth dying over.
Oh and STOKED that Katherine is back. I love her so much. Yea she’s a bitch but she adds so much more to the show.
And I’m sure it wont be the end of the whole debacle with Caroline and her dad…And Bonnie’s back next week! I’m so excited to see where everything is headed. Elena better just watch her back cause they’re definitely going to be coming for her.
Oh and just one more thing…why doesn’t Klaus just compel Stephan…there’s all his answers to pretty much everything lol

Good Lord almighty Jesus! Rebecca-not only an original;Klaus’s sister, but also, the REAL owner of Elena’s necklace?!?! The necklace,given to Rebecca by an original witch, seems to magically protect itself. Maybe that is why whenever Elena loses it, she eventually finds it or it is returned to her. I know Stefan was compelled to forget he ever knew Klaus and Rebecca, but now that he remembers,what is he going to do? Obviously, he and Rebecca had a thing going and now she’s back! Where does that leave Elena?! I’M HOPING WITH DAMON! Score one for us Delena fans! I didn’t feel bad/sorry for Elena because she is setting herself up for more misery. As @Leigh Antonette Barruga says, A GREAT FEELING FOR DELENA FANS!!!! Katherine shocked me by following Stefan and Klaus- is it just me or in the flashback of Kat, did she seem interested in that necklace? I wonder why? Hurray for Sheriff Forbes and Tyler for saving Caroline- what of loser for a father! I seriously don’t think he’ll give up trying to “fix” Caroline. Overall, this episode was INCREDIBLY SHOCKING, EPIC, AND REVEALING!!!! CAN’T WAIT FOR MORE!!!! TVD RULES!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t even know where to start, first of all Tyler and Caroline,the cutest, especially when he held her when she was crying and he saved her, OMFG
Also when Stefan found Elena in his apartment, and he was like look what i found, my heart started beating so fast, i was like NO STEFAN DON”T… but he didn’t do anything. When he broke up with her, it shattered my heart into a million pieces, i know he’s doing it to protect her, but WHY? i love those two together
With this whole Rebecca thing, i did not like Stefan’s expression, like jeesz dude, come on, you love Elena!! i did not like that at all, and now he’s probably never going to go back to Elena, and that hurt even more. I’m happy Damon was trying to help bring Elena back, for the most part, I’m happy he stayed in his limits… don’t know what to say, sorry for rambling, amazing episode, scared for what comes next
Great episode! I can’t wait till next week! Anyway I’m a huge fan of ‘Delena’ and I’m hoping for ‘Stebecca’ ! They would make the best couple ever. Stefan is not himself with Elena :/

Grate Ep! I love Stephen with Rebecca its odd how she makes him seam cool not just some Angel wanna be. Like the dark side of him. but poor Elena Man that has to hurt but i wounder if Stephen gave her that neck-less cause it was important in some way?
Even though Damon and Elena make a totally cute couple, she has to be with stefan, come on its ELENA AND STEFAN!! But now he has his memories back from the 20′s!! Is he gonna go really evil on us! AHHH :O im really worried! And i wish when stefan saw elena he would’ve told her he loved her… ;( cant wait for the next episode
Im wondering… If Rebecca had Elena’s necklace it means that the Originals are immune to verbain! Unless stefan had put the verbain in it. wich i don’t think… im just so exited for this new season!!!!!!!!!
Flashback episode are always so entertaining!! I love seeing into their pasts! And how adorable (minus the whole killing innocent ppl part) are Stefan and Rebecca. I’ve been rooting for Elena to bring Stefan back, not just geographically, but now I’m not so sure…. I kinda want to see where the relationship with Rebecca is going….

Ok so this is my idea and hopes for rest of the season
1st of Stebaccka for sure also Delena
2nd Hoping to meet all of the originals cause only the comeback off one Rebbecka gave a whole new meaning to the TV show
3rd Klaus and Stefan actually becoming friends cause they are the best team of guys i ever saw on History of TV shows
4th Forwood story is really awsome
5th nobody is saying about Met and Jeremy about Vikki and Anna cant wait too see what happens there,i just know Jeremy will turst the wrong one
6th well i saw comments who made Originals an that well if you read the books you know they never told us,but i hope they do in the TV show

6. Sebastian Roche, the cop — who is he — I think the father?
7. Katherine stalking Stefan even back in the 20s
8. The necklace is the key to figure out what went wrong.
9. The fact that the name of the episode was “The End of the Affair” but I never thought it meant Stefan and Elena.
This is the best one ever. I loved every minute of it, every scene. It was amazing and opens the door to so many possibilities. Paul Wesley was so hot in that tux. Rebekah was scandalous. And Joseph showed a tiny bit softer side. They were awesome in those flashbacks.
And, although it was sad for Elena, I think she and Damon finally got the full picture. Stefan was harsh but he had to be to make Elena stay away. Otherwise they are all going to die.
And Caroline and Tyler were pretty awesome too. I cried when Caroline cried. And again at the closet scene and, of course, the breakup.
Unbelievable this episode.
Again, kudos to Mr Coleman for portraying cruel yet loving daddy this much successfully. I can’t wait to watch what’s in store for Bill Forbes.

Good Bye Vampire Diaries!! Two weeks into the season and I am done. It used to be fun, sexy and mysterious. Now it;s just gory. Way too many people and plot lines and where did you find this Klaus idiot?
You guys have turned in LOST. At first it was exciting, then it just got stupid.

Stefan looks so much better in chicago! I love the new series because its different, but i miss stefan, Damon is so much better in this series, the way he asks elena if shes okay, awww. When stefan saw elena in the closest thingy magiggy i really thought klaus was going to find out! i felt so sorry for caroline, it bugs me the way nobody even noticed that shes gone! Jeremy! jeremy looks so so so so much better in this series. i hate it the way its focused on Stefan, Elena, Damon and Klaus! no matt! i really miss jenna aswell, i cant believe they killed her off!
